Baroody Camps has many options this winter: Science, Chess, Bakers & Makers, Tip-Toe Dance, Lego Engineering, Reptile Rangers, Minecraft Architects, and Beginner Piano. Registration is open from January 5 (Mon) until Jan 14 (Wed). A link to register and POC are below.

The 2026 Auction Gala, which is on February 21 (Sat) and raises money for teacher bonuses, is just around the corner. The annual Gift Card Drive is a large part of it and will be January 12-16 (Mon-Fri). Every family which donates at least 1 gift card will receive an Out of Uniform Day (OUD) for the entire family. (The OUD date will be announced later. Thank you Principal LaBarge!) Please consider sending your students to school with gift cards next week. Any type is welcome and all denominations are greatly appreciated. In the past, Amazon, Target, Visa, local restaurants, and favorite chains have been key to the success of the event. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the PTO Auction – A Royal Gala on February 21 at the Arlington Knights of Columbus (5115 Little Falls Rd, Arlington, VA 22207). Bishop Ireton High School will host its 9th Annual "HackBI" on January 17-18 (Sat-Sun). HackBI Middle School is a 12-hour student-led hackathon to learn to code and problem solve in teams from 9am - 9pm on January 17 (Sat). There is no cost and lunch and dinner are included. Concurrently, high schoolers can attend the entire 24-hour portion (9am Sat to 9am Sun), including late night Mass, a D.J., dancing, singing, games, etc. HackBI will include cash prizes, industry speakers, STEM panels, etc. Middle school spots are limited and priority goes to 8th graders, so consider registering soon. Registration is open for Player Sports Academy's (PSA) after school enrichment programs for: Basketball (Mon) for $155 (K - 5th grade). Classes run January 12th - March 9th. Students may be picked-up at 4:20pm or checked-into Extended Day. Registration ends Jan 23 (Fri). Table Tennis was cancelled.

St. Thomas More Cathedral (STMC) is inviting STM families and friends to a wonderful, spaghetti dinner on January 31 (Sat) from 5:30pm - 7:30pm in Burke Hall. Dinner ($30 for a family or $10 for an individual) includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Children under 3 are free! Beer and wine ($5 each) and soda ($1 each) will also be for sale. Take the night off from cooking and come enjoy fellowship with other STM families! Please register by January 28 (Wed). Thank you to STMC's Women's Council for hosting.

Does your child have: "Improve Grades" as a New Years resolution? Mrs. Parente and Mr. Biehler are inviting 2nd - 8th graders to attend Homework Hour (Mon-Thr, 3:20pm - 4:20pm) for $20 a session. Sessions are designed to provide students an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and receive guidance on homework.  (These are not tutoring sessions. Join our Resource Team and guest speaker on February 19 (Thr) at 8am in the cafeteria with breakfast or at 7pm online. Parents will hear from Holly Keegan, who tutors many STM students, and explore facets of executive function - including: perseverance, failure, fixed & growth mindset, etc. Link to RSVP by Feb 16 (Mon) and POC are below.

Applications for 2026-2027 financial aid for rising Kindergarteners thru 8th graders must be completed in FACTS by March 14 (Sat). Applications must include last year's 2025 taxes (i.e., 1040s, W-2s, 1099s) even though the deadline is prior to the deadline to file taxes. Links and a POC are below.

Bishop Ireton High School, which has one of the premier theater programs in the area, performs the high-energy musical "Hello Dolly!" on March 20 (Fri), Mar 21 (Sat), Mar 27 (Fri), and Mar 28 (Sat) at 7pm and on Mar 22 (Sun) at 2pm. Plot: Set in New York City at the turn of the 20th century, "Hello, Dolly!" follows Dolly Levi - a professional meddler and matchmaker tasked with finding a wife for the gruff half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder. Though she is secretly eyeing the wealthy man for herself, Dolly cleverly orchestrates matches for him and his entire household. Filled with bright comedy, classic songs, and thrilling dance numbers, this beautiful Golden Age musical celebrates love, second chances, and the joy of living life to the fullest!
