For the 2026–27 basketball season, STM CYO will charge a flat registration fee of $85 per athlete. Additionally, a $55 jersey fee can be added for those players who need to purchase a new jersey. Returning players may use their existing STM basketball jersey.
We want families to understand how the registration fee is determined and where those funds are used.
For the 2026–27 season, the Diocese charges STM a team registration fee based on grade level, ranging from approximately $690 to $910 per team. With a program of our size, league fees alone represent a significant portion of the basketball budget.
For context, last season STM had approximately 185 basketball players. Team sizes vary considerably by grade, which means the diocesan team fee does not translate into the same cost per player on every team. Rather than charging families different amounts based on grade or team size, we spread the cost across the entire basketball program and charge every athlete the same $85 registration fee.

STM is fortunate that our primary practice gym is provided at no rental cost. This is an important part of our budget and allows us to keep the player registration fee at $85.
Our goal in setting the fee is straightforward: collect what is needed to operate the basketball season while keeping participation as affordable as possible for STM families.
