5th Grade, which just read "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park, is raising money for Water for South Sudan (WFSS). If you want to help and have an Out of Uniform Day (OUD) (not just jeans), please have your children bring in $2 each that day. No coins please. Links with additional info and a POC are below.

STM's Peer Mentor Program (PMP) supports students with learning needs by placing 7th & 8th graders alongside them to help.  If you or your 6th or 7th grader are interested in learning about this program for 2026-2027, please RSVP by Apr 21 (Tue) at the link below and join the Resource Team's Zoom call on April 23 (Thr) at 7pm. Bishop Burbidge invites all Middle Schoolers to BASH 2026 on April 25 (Sat) at Bishop O'Connell from 3:30pm - 8:30pm. Over 1,300 middle schoolers are expected to enjoy a day of: gaga ball tournaments, free throw contests, middle school-size bounce houses, rock climbing, pizza, ice cream, Illusionist Giancarlo Bernini, Keynote Speaker Rachel Leininger, and Vigil Mass (completes Sunday obligation) celebrated by the Bishop. STM families only have to pay $10 per youth and will meet at STM at 2:30pm and return at 9pm. Fully Compliant (VIRTUS + background check) parent volunteers are needed as drivers and chaperones. Sign up before it sells out. This will be the place to be if you are a middle schooler!

With April being the Month of the Military Child, parents who are serving or served and are fully-compliant (i.e., Background Check + VIRTUS Training) are encouraged to come in and brief a class or two about their path to the military, career, & lessons learned. STM will provide a 5-slide brief for you to populate with pictures and child-centric topics, which should allow for a 10-minute brief and 10 minutes for Q&A. Briefers are encouraged to wear uniforms. If interested, please email a short intro to the POC below.

Mrs. Parente and Mr. Biehler are inviting 2nd - 8th graders to attend Homework Hour (Mon-Thr, 3:20pm - 4:20pm) for $20 a session. Sessions are designed to provide students an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and receive guidance on homework.  (These are not tutoring sessions. Those may be arranged with other teachers.) Link to register, POCs, and additional info are below.

St. Thomas More Cathedral School (STM) is asking for nominations for the Sister Maria Angelica Distinguished STM Alumni Award. Please nominate an alum who has given extraordinary service to STM or their community. Nomination should be less than 250 words in Word or .pdf and emailed to [email protected] by May 10th (Sunday). Last year’s recipient Timothy Solak, STM '72, is pictured receiving the award. Thank you.

The Cathedral is hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) June 22-26 (Mon-Fri) 9am - 12pm for rising 1st - 6th graders.  This year's theme is "Rainforest Falls" where campers learn the nature of God by exploring Bible stories, get hands-on with crafts & experiments, and make friends during all kinds of activities.  Cost, prior to Apr 30 (Thr), is only $80 and includes 5 days of camp activities, a daily snack, and a t-shirt. Feel free to invite non-STM children from your neighborhood. Adults, high schoolers, and rising 7th & 8th grade volunteers are needed! (7th Graders, come get your Confirmation service hours.)
