The Cathedral is hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) June 22-26 (Mon-Fri) 9am - 12pm for rising 1st - 6th graders.  This year's theme is "Rainforest Falls" where campers learn the nature of God by exploring Bible stories, get hands-on with crafts & experiments, and make friends during all kinds of activities.  Cost, prior to Apr 30 (Thr), is only $80 and includes 5 days of camp activities, a daily snack, and a t-shirt. Feel free to invite non-STM children from your neighborhood. Adults, high schoolers, and rising 7th & 8th grade volunteers are needed! (7th Graders, come get your Confirmation service hours.) Please RSVP at the link below to volunteer. The first Volunteer meeting is Mar 23 (Mon) at 7pm.

PTO will conduct a Used Uniform Sale March 27 (Fri) 7:30am - 9am. Everything is $5. Come for uniforms & PTO volunteer hours and stay for Mass! Link to sign-up to volunteer is below. Feel free to drop off uniforms at the office prior.

Bishop O'Connell High School expects to sell out its auditorium when it performs the "The Sound of Music" for one weekend only on March 27 (Fri) at 7pm, March 28 (Sat) at 2pm & 7pm, and March 29 (Sun) at 2pm. The show features a cast of 45, including guest performers as the Von Trapp Children from local elementary schools. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Academy Award-winning movie featuring Julie Andrews. Audiences will enjoy classic tunes such as "Do-Re-Mi," "My Favorite Things," and "Climb Every Mountain" played by a professional orchestra. Additional info and a link to reserve tickets are below. Bishop Ireton High School, which has one of the premier theater programs in the area, performs the musical "Hello Dolly!" March 27 (Fri) and Mar 28 (Sat) at 7pm. Plot: Set in New York City at the turn of the 20th century, "Hello, Dolly!" follows Dolly Levi - a professional meddler and matchmaker tasked with finding a wife for the gruff half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder. Though she is secretly eyeing the wealthy man for herself, Dolly cleverly orchestrates matches for him and his entire household. Filled with bright comedy, classic songs, and thrilling dance numbers, this beautiful Golden Age musical celebrates love, second chances, and the joy of living life to the fullest! Friday Lenten Suppers 5:30pm - 7:30pm in Burke Hall run through Mar 27 (Fri). Cost is $10 per person or $30 per family and can be paid upon arrival.  Kids under 3 eat free!  All proceeds will be donated to charity. All are invited to Stations of the Cross at 6pm. Sign-up link and POC are below.

Looking for something for your children to do on March 31 (Tue) when school is closed? Consider having them register for a 6-hour Master Artist Class where they will learn to draw cartoons. There are four locations across NOVA offering this $80 class: Vienna, Annadale, Springfield, and Mt. Vernon. Links with more info and to register are below.

STM's band is raising money by selling STM-specific cards (e.g., school, cathedral, grotto designs) and Krispy Kreme donuts. The cards are great for letting family know of completed sacraments or moving up to the next grade, thanking teachers, etc. and the donuts are great for any occasion! The money raised will go towards the band's trip to Williamsburg in May as they try to extend their 3-year streak of 1st Place finishes. STM's Running Royals Track & Field registration is open and practices have started. Although only 3rd - 8th graders participate in Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) sports traditionally, 2nd Graders may participate as long as they are accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Practices are Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at Bon Air Park and Sundays 3:30pm - 5pm at Wakefield High School Track. (We understand your child may not attend every practice.) PSA Sports has open registration for Flag Football (Mondays), Soccer (Wednesdays), and Tennis (Friday) for Kindergartens or 1st Graders thru 5th Grade from mid-April until late May. A flyer, link to register, and POC are below.

Mrs. Parente and Mr. Biehler are inviting 2nd - 8th graders to attend Homework Hour (Mon-Thr, 3:20pm - 4:20pm) for $20 a session. Sessions are designed to provide students an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and receive guidance on homework.  (These are not tutoring sessions.
