3rd - 8th graders interested in playing Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) basketball for STM can register until October 24 (Fri). Practices start in mid-October and are once a week in STM's gym. The season is December - March with ~3 games a month. Cost is $75 (+$55 if you need a jersey). We need volunteer coaches - no experience needed. Link to register, additional info, and POC are below.

RFE is now 2 weeks away and we have got a ton of updates! There are two ways to donate! Activate your family's Pledgestar page by October 15 (Wed) and you could win 2 Auction 2026 admission tickets or donate directly to your child(ren)'s class(es) through the Donate Direct links! Every class that raises $2,500+ will earn an Out-of-Uniform Day (OUD) and the top fundraising class per grade will get a donut party!

Join our Resource Team to explore the 14 Components of Attention on October 16 (Thr) for breakfast at 8am in the cafeteria or 7pm online. Parents will learn ways to support children to become better learners. Please RSVP by October 13 (Mon). Link and POC are below.

Trunk or Treat is back! Please join us in STM's parking area on October 24 (Fri) from 5pm - 7:30pm. Rocklands BBQ will be on site to provide tasty dinner to go along with all the candy. In addition to Trunk or Treat-ing, children can enjoy Balloon Artists, a Bounce House Obstacle Course, and a DJ - with music and dancing! There will be prizes for Best Decorated Trunk, Best Family Costumes, and Best Individual Costume! Because space is limited, please purchase tickets soon. PTO will conduct its Fall Used Uniform Sale on October 31 (Fri) from 7:30am - 9am. Please consider signing-up to volunteer below. Come for used uniforms; stay for Mass!

Mrs. Parente and Mr. Biehler are inviting 2nd - 8th graders to attend Homework Hour (Mon-Thr, 3:20pm - 4:20pm) for $20 a session. Sessions are designed to provide students an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and receive guidance on homework.  (These are not tutoring sessions. Those may be arranged with other teachers.) Link to register, POCs, and additional info are below.

PTO is hosting a screening of "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age" on November 6 (Thr) at 6:30pm in Burke Hall (Cathedral's basement) for parents and teachers.  This Elementary School version of the documentary looks at the struggles parents are facing with social media, video games, internet addiction, and the impact of screen time on children’s development.  The film offers thoughtful insights from parenting experts, neuroscientists, and the students themselves, providing valuable strategies for navigating the digital world in a healthy way.  The screening will be followed by a discussion where families and faculty can share experiences and discuss strategies.

Bishop Ireton High School will host its 9th Annual "HackBI" on January 17-18 (Sat-Sun). HackBI Middle School is a 12-hour student-led hackathon to learn to code and problem solve in teams from 9am - 9pm on January 17 (Sat). There is no cost and lunch and dinner are included. Concurrently, high schoolers can attend the entire 24-hour portion (9am Sat to 9am Sun), including late night Mass, a D.J., dancing, singing, games, etc. HackBI will include cash prizes, industry speakers, STEM panels, etc. Middle school spots are limited and priority goes to 8th graders, so consider registering soon.
