Race for Education

In 2008, St. Thomas More launched a very successful fundraising program called Race for Education. This program is an opportunity to engage students in a fundraiser that will directly benefit their education. Students solicit friends and family for donations to support them on race day. Students and faculty will walk or jog around a designated area of the school while raising money for new programs to enhance their education.

Fundraising

STM families should sign up on Pledgestar (http://pledgestar.com/stthomasmore) to register runners and send donation requests to friends and family. We aim to match last year’s goal by raising $75,000, which will be dedicated to optimizing space for our growing student body by soundproofing the gymnasium. Soundproofing will provide a quiet learning environment for students in classrooms while others are engaged in play and physical education in the gym, and will provide a more acoustically viable space for school gatherings and performances.

Service
We will also use the opportunity to support the St. Lucy Food Project, which feeds poor and vulnerable neighbors and helps transform lives through a variety of other Catholic Charities ministries. St. Lucy provides food to 111 distribution sites, including 88 food pantries, clinics, mobile sites, and more.

T-Shirts
VCO Orthodontics has generously donated T-shirts, which will be distributed at school and are to be worn by students on race day.
