PTO President Heather Doucet shares their family's STM journey and what the school community means to her children, "we found our people."

we came during Catholic schools week and my daughter whose fourth time was just loved everything about it and she found a teacher that she just felt drawn to and I just knew at that it was never any doubt in my mind that we were supposed to be here and I'm a child of well I just my husband into that would support us we have some learning challenges, unbeknownst to us in the beginning right and the teachers guided me through this process of determining what are challenges word what are options some friends that are not at a t m said you should consider public school and I looked into it and it was actually I came to find out that the resources we have pure there were more resources available to my kids deciding which was wonderful to hear because I had no desire to move them I feel like more I just I love the direction that my kids are going write certainly helps to have his nurturing environment where the parents are rocking on the same page right with what we expose our kids to and limitations is such those it's very comforting in that way that I've got a guy right amongst our parents real surfaced and philosophies are becoming is people it sounds arrogant but I appreciate when other people who are not friends from college at their kids mindhunter lead by example and other people noticed that and it's just a really great feeling and I always say that I always say they helped me the teachers everybody. they helped me there helping me the event that our parents as well and I think it shows in our kids we found our people when we came here and I've been living here for 20 years and never really had a connection with The Neighbourhood tour moms group it's not really but it was just a sense of community that we found our people when we came here by my husband who is stored hesitant in the beginning to throw himself into the social life has embraced it and I would say his closest friends are dad's at school getting together one of the moms there are there are not my kids as friends are here and it's just been it's a wonderful place in but obviously in addition to the Social Scene dock demyx the opportunities that our kids have been given here is just top notch
