    All new or returning parents may register for band with online material as well. Instrument rentals should be made through Music and Arts Online (via school code)
 
             Lesson book:  Essential Elements, Book 1 - for your instrument.

In school, Thursdays, September 24th, 4th - 8th Grade, 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Award Winning!

Band instruction is offered to students in 4th through 8th grade in conjunction with the Garwood Whaley Music Program. The band operates lessons and full rehearsals during the school day. More than 100 students are members of the STM school band. Beginner Band is offered in 4th grade with lessons once per week and performances in school concerts. Advanced Band members participate in festivals and competitions.

 

The current band director, Barry Ward, has been leading the program for more than 40 years with a consistent record of winning local recognition, regional achievements and national awards. Each year Mr. Ward anticipates openings in the band and encourages all interested to join.

 

Beginners start on one of 5 basic instruments - flute, clarinet, alto sax, trumpet, trombone and drums.

Advanced Band needs the following special instruments - tuba, baritone, trombone, bass, clarinet and tenor sax.

Arlington Diocese Band Festival - Superior Rating 1977-2010

Outstanding Band Award in the Arlington Diocese - 7 times

Kings Dominion Band Festival - Superior & Excellent Ratings

Hershey Park Band Festival - Superior Rating

Busch Gardens Music Festival - Grand Champions
