Meet Mr. Benjamin Wage

My name is Benjamin Wage, and I am thrilled to be joining the St. Thomas More Cathedral School community! I bring more than 35 years of experience in education, serving students from elementary school through college while combining my passion for teaching, philosophy, leadership, and educational technology.

I am a former technology leader and teacher within the Diocese of Arlington, where I helped guide diocesan technology initiatives and supported schools in implementing instructional technologies, digital learning platforms, assessment systems, and best practices for technology integration. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with Schoology, PowerSchool, GoGuardian, Scantron, Google Workspace, robotics, coding, STEM/STREAM education, artificial intelligence, and digital citizenship.

As a lifelong learner, I hold two master’s degrees—one in Philosophy and another in Educational Leadership—and I am currently completing my doctoral research in philosophy, focusing on ethics, artificial intelligence, and human flourishing. My work explores how emerging technologies can serve the dignity of the human person and support authentic learning, themes that closely reflect the Church’s vision expressed in Magnifica Humanitas.

Beyond technical skills, I believe technology is never an end in itself. My mission is to help students become wise, responsible, and creative digital citizens who use technology to serve others, seek truth, solve real-world problems, and glorify God through their talents. I strive to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and ethical decision-making while ensuring that every child develops confidence in an ever-changing digital world.

As a longtime member of the Catholic educational community, I am honored to continue serving the mission of Catholic education. I look forward to partnering with our faculty, parents, and students to create engaging, innovative, and faith-filled learning experiences where technology strengthens—not replaces—the relationships, virtues, and human dignity at the heart of our school.
