Meet Mrs. Carol Bussey

I love working with children of all ages and helping them develop the foundational skills they need to succeed. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California and, after several years in the workplace, transitioned into education. After earning a Master’s degree in Teaching, I taught at the elementary level, including third grade at Holy Trinity in Washington, D.C.; first grade at St. Leo the Great in Fairfax; and a combined second- and third-grade classroom at a private school.

As part of my K–12 Reading Specialist certificate program at George Mason University, I had the opportunity to work with middle school students. Through this experience, literacy and reading comprehension became a passion of mine, as I recognize how essential these skills are for success in school, the workplace, and life.

My husband and I have been married for 30 years, and our son is a senior in college. I am excited to join the STM community and look forward to working with your children!
