Meet Mrs. Maynard

Hi! My name is Amy Maynard, and I am so excited to be STM’s Physical Education teacher! I am also a proud STM mom to my two boys, Colt and Will.

My journey at St. Thomas More began during the height of COVID, when I stepped in to help at the school because I strongly believed in the importance of keeping our schools open and our students connected. I am so grateful that what began as an opportunity to help became a meaningful part of the STM community.

I graduated from Georgia Tech and earned my MBA from the University of Dallas. Before coming to STM, I spent 21 years working as a telecommunications engineer before making the decision to become a stay-at-home mom. I am also a certified personal trainer and running coach, so I am passionate about helping others discover the joy and importance of movement, fitness, and an active lifestyle.

Outside of school, I love listening to audiobooks. I grew up on a farm in a small town called Between, Georgia, where my dad was the longtime mayor. And for a fun—and slightly unusual—fact about me: I was once bitten by an eel and still have the scar to prove it!

I am excited to continue growing as part of the STM family and to help our students develop healthy habits, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for being active.
