Meet Mrs. Sara James

With an educational background that includes Florida International University, the University of Miami School of Law, and the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education, I bring more than 30 years of experience teaching Literature and Language Arts across the United States and the Republic of Panama.

As a Navy wife, adaptability, flexibility, teamwork, creativity, and time management have been essential skills throughout my career. Some of my most unique teaching experiences include teaching GIs and teaching in an Orthodox Yeshiva. I believe in beginning each day with a fresh start for every student, listening to all sides of the story, and finding ways to reach each student through their individual learning style.

My teaching motto is, “Do your best and God will do the rest!” I am excited to be part of a great middle school team and look forward to helping our students learn and grow. Outside the classroom, I am a sports fanatic who especially enjoys baseball, hockey, and football, with lacrosse quickly becoming a new favorite. I also love dogs, seals, all kinds of music—especially country—and prefer tea over coffee. Some of my proudest professional achievements include adapting my classroom for social-distanced learning and teaching HSPT camp remotely.
