PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)
The St. Thomas More Cathedral School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) plays a vital role in building a strong, connected school community. Through family events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives, the PTO supports programs and projects that enhance the educational experience for every student. We believe that when families are actively engaged in school life, students thrive.
PTO Fee
Each family is assessed an annual $125 PTO Fee. At the end of the school year, any unfulfilled volunteer hours will be billed through FACTS at a rate of $22 per hour. Should distance learning be implemented for a substantial portion of the school year, the PTO may adjust or waive the volunteer service fee.
Family involvement is an important part of the STM community. Each family is required to fulfill a volunteer service commitment during the school year:
- Two-parent households: 20 hours per school year
- Single-parent households: 10 hours per school year
The PTO offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including school events, classroom activities, field trips, and other community activities. Families can view opportunities, sign up, and track their volunteer hours through the Membership Toolkit platform.
Please note: Volunteers must be Fully Compliant with Diocese of Arlington requirements before participating in any school activity. For complete volunteer requirements and additional information, please refer to the Volunteer at STM page
New Playground Coming 2026!!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our STM community, the PTO raised nearly $220,000 in less than one year through the Golf Tournament, Race for Education, and additional fundraising efforts to bring a brand-new playground to campus. Opening for the 2026–2027 school year, the new playground will:
- Welcome students in every grade
- Accommodate more than 120 children at one time
- Expand outdoor learning and recreation opportunities alongside our new turf field
