Scouts

Scouts BSA Troop 2535, chartered by the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, provides boys in Grades 5–12 with opportunities to build character, leadership, citizenship, and outdoor skills through adventure and service. Troop members enjoy a wide variety of activities throughout the year, including:

 

• Monthly campouts and outdoor adventures
• Council events such as the Camporee and Klondike Derby
• Week-long summer camps at Scouts BSA camps throughout the region
• Merit badge programs that explore career fields, develop practical skills, and encourage personal growth
• Service projects that benefit the parish and local community

The troop meets Tuesday evenings from 7:15–8:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Cathedral School and welcomes both experienced Scouts and those who are new to Scouting. You do not need prior Cub Scout experience to join.  Scouting at St. Thomas More is more than outdoor adventure—it's an opportunity for young men to grow as leaders, strengthen friendships, serve others, and live out the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Cub Scout Pack 194, chartered by the Cathedral of St. Thomas More since 1989, provides boys in Grades 1–5 with opportunities to grow in character, leadership, citizenship, and faith through fun, family-centered adventures. Open to students of St. Thomas More Cathedral School and parish members, boys may join at any grade level—there is no need to begin in first grade. 

 

What Scouts Experience - Pack 194 offers a variety of activities designed to build confidence, strengthen family connections, and encourage service, including:

 

• Camping and hiking
• Outdoor skills and nature activities
• Arts and crafts
• Pinewood Derby race car building and competition
• Community service projects
• Faith formation and discussions centered on Catholic values
• Opportunities to earn religious emblems
• Participation in the Cathedral's Fall and Spring Scouting Masses

Cub Scouting emphasizes parent involvement, creating meaningful opportunities for families to learn, serve, and have fun together. Many Pack activities also welcome siblings, making Scouting a rewarding experience for the entire family. New Scouts typically register at the beginning of the school year, but families are welcome to inquire about joining throughout the year.
