Award-Winning Band Program
Music is an integral part of the St. Thomas More Cathedral School experience. Our award winning band program provides students in Grades 4–8 with the opportunity to develop their musical talents while building confidence, teamwork, and discipline. With more than 100 student musicians, the STM Band is one of the school's most vibrant extracurricular programs. Be Part of the Band will provide additional information and how to join!
Band Instruction
Band lessons and full ensemble rehearsals are held during the school day, making participation convenient for students and families.

A Tradition of Excellence
For more than 40 years, Band Director Barry Ward has led the STM Band to consistent local, regional, and national recognition for musical excellence. The program has earned numerous honors, including:
- Multiple Superior Ratings at the Arlington Diocese Band Festival
- Outstanding Band Award in the Arlington Diocese on seven occasions
- Superior and Excellent Ratings at the Kings Dominion Band Festival
- Superior Rating at the Hershey Park Band Festival
- Grand Champion honors at the Busch Gardens Music Festival
Each year, new students are encouraged to join and become part of this proud tradition of musical excellence.
