The main entrance of the school is in the back of the building. Please enter off Cathedral Lane, behind Dunkin'. The school is located to the right of the Cathedral and construction zone. Main entrance is opposite the tan trailer building, down sidewalk flanked by wrought iron fencing.

  2. Application FeeA $300 non-refundable application fee payment must be completed in addition to the electronic application via the PowerSchool Enrollment Portal. This form is for payment purposes only and will not confirm your application unless all other documents are also received. Only one payment is required per family. Applications will not be considered until the fee has been paid.
  3. Original Birth Certificate or Passport
  4. Baptismal Certificate, if applicable
  5. Proof of Registration in a Catholic Parish, if applying for Catholic tuition rate
  6. For students in grades 1–8, two years of report cards or school assessments and two years of standardized tests. If your child has an IEP or SAP, a copy should be attached.
  7. Proof of adequate immunization and physical examination as required by the Code of Virginia. Students must have completed the Virginia School Entrance Health Form.
  8. Proof of custody documents, if applicable 

Step 2
Once all application documents have been received: 
PreK applicants - will receive a notification letter, developmental questionnaire and teacher/childcare provider comment form.
K-8 applicants - will be scheduled for placement screening appointments.

Step 3
The Admissions Committee meets every two weeks to review new candidate files and results. Within two weeks following completion of the K-8 screening or PreK questionnaires:
  • Decision letters will be emailed.
  • Seat deposit of $1,000 per family is due within 5 business days and will be applied to 2024-2025 tuition accounts as a credit; non-refundable.

 

Tuition & Financial Assistance: The application process for financial aid opens on November 1 of every year and remains open until October 31.

Current families may enroll new siblings beginning October 9. The $300 one-time family registration fee will be charged to FACTS on December 15.

All currently enrolled STM students will be automatically re-enrolled on October 9. Families will receive two charges via FACTS on December 15:
  1. Registration fee: non-refundable $300 registration fee per family 
  2. Tuition deposit: $1000 deposit which will be applied to the following year’s tuition, non-refundable
 
Families may opt out of the automatic enrollment by sending an email to Mimi Neubauer at [email protected] by October 31.
 
If your family has not registered, and paid the non-refundable registration fee and tuition deposit, your child(ren)’s space will be made available to new families.

Tuition Assistance

The Diocese of Arlington and the STM School and Parish Community are committed to making a Catholic education attainable for all who seek it. All families are encouraged to apply for tuition aid if assistance is needed. Pursuant to diocesan guidelines issued this year, STM will again use FACTS Grant & Aid for financial aid assessments. Only families who complete the Tuition Assistance application via FACTS will be considered. Tuition Assistance is made possible through the contributions from Diocese of Arlington parishioners and the Rooted in Faith-Forward in Hope.

 

FACTS Financial Aid Application DUE DATE (Only one application is needed per family.) 

All Diocesan Elementary/Middle School Students: March 15 Year of Tax Forms from the previous year are required

 

DIOCESAN TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program provides tuition assistance to families in Diocese of Arlington Catholic schools through funding from diocesan parishes as well as the Rooted in Faith ~ Forward in Hope Capital Campaign Endowment. It is open to all qualified students whose parents might not otherwise be able to pay the full cost of tuition.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Students attending or accepted by a Diocese of Arlington Catholic school (K-12).
    • Preschool students are not eligible.
    • Not applicable to students of private independent Catholic schools associated with the Diocese and/or international students.
  • Students who are Catholic and members of a parish in the Diocese of Arlington or military base parish.
  • Families who reside within the boundaries of the Diocese of Arlington and are registered and active members of a diocesan parish or a military base parish.

 

APPLICATION

Submit financial aid assessment application and all supporting tax documentation by due date.

AWARDS

Awards are made for one academic year and are based on demonstrated financial need. Individual schools determine the amount and will contact families when award decisions have been made.



DIOCESE OF ARLINGTON SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Through Virginia’s Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits program and as a result of tax credit donations, the Diocese of Arlington Scholarship Foundation is able to provide tuition scholarships to eligible students of lower-income families. Applicants must meet the published criteria.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Family must complete a financial aid assessment application to verify income level.
  • Student must be new to the Diocese of Arlington school system and a resident of Virginia.
  • Student must be transferring from public school, from out of state, or enroll in kindergarten or first grade.
  • Or, student must have received this scholarship in a prior year.

AWARDS

Awards are made for one academic year. Awards are limited by legislation and cannot exceed tuition cost. Schools will contact families when award decisions have been made.



BEATRICE SPECIAL TUITION ASSISTANCE

Through a generous donor, this extra source of assistance is available for single parent households and families with multiple children in Diocesan schools.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Single Parent household or
  • Family with multiple children grades K-12 in diocesan schools
    • Preschool students are not eligible
    • Students of private independent Catholic schools associated with the Diocese are not eligible
    • Students of schools outside the Diocese of Arlington are not eligible
  • Family must show greater than $0 FACTS Calculated Need
