Dear Parents,
It does seem like just yesterday that we were bidding students farewell in the pickup line and yet, I find myself writing the new school year’s Blast. Time does fly and I hope that your family has had a wonderful summer. School starts in a few short weeks and I wanted to be sure that you have all the information about Fab Friday, Popcicles in the Park, DFE and all the other events going on at STM.
Our school has dominated the educational challenges that came with Covid and while we may not be completely out of the virus woods, we are able to return to a semblance of pre-pandemic order this year. Please review the Parent-Student or PreK Parent Handbooks, as appropriate, for updated information on our policies and procedures.
Our 5 year Strategic Plan Committee did a great job and now we are prepared to implement the plan as we enhance our academic rigor and fashion our students for the educational and spiritual encounters of the real world. We will continue to offer a safe learning environment that provides students a secure school building and superior academic, social and emotional experiences. We will meet every student’s academic needs with diversified instruction that not only enhances their educational experience, but capitalizes on success and reinforces the concept of hard work and the self-realization of accomplishment.
This year we will also undergo the Design for Excellence (DFE) process for reaccreditation. This is a required self-study which culminates in March 2023. It also requires multiple early dismissal days but we have provided Extended Day as often as possible. Please check the calendar and the attached FAQs about this process. There is no doubt in my mind that we will pass with flying colors as we already exceed all of the areas of inspection.
I speak for the entire staff in expressing our joy and excitement as we look forward to a wonderful 2022-2023 school year. We are not only prepared to work with our students in the pursuit of excellence, but do so with the joy of Christ in our hearts as we develop our students in every area of growth: mind, body and soul.
Chat soon,
Cath
