Dear Parents,
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! And here is an example of why:
I was making my way among the lines of students during morning drop off when, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a group of young men huddled together. They stood shoulder to shoulder as though hiding something that was being protected by their numbers. Their hushed tones caused the hair on my neck to stand at full attention. What horrible new contraband could I possibly discover now? New Pokemon cards? Lego Star Wars? Popsockets? A cell phone? Homework plagiarizing? I knew I had to investigate.
I walked up to the cluster of 4th graders and what to my wondering eyes did I discover? A young student carefully opening a leather pouch that held his Rosary. He caught the beaded decade in his cupped hand and told his friends that it was a valued symbol of our Catholic Faith and that it was dear to him and his family. He explained the concept of praying the Rosary and how he knew that Mary would intercede for all of us if we asked for her guidance. He then gingerly slid the beaded loop back into his sachal and placed it reverently into his backpack.
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! Where else do they pay you to have these experiences?
