Great PTO meeting last night. For those not able to attend, I’ll give you the reader’s digest version of what I put out:
-Confirmation is scheduled for Monday, 7 November. Future such events (First Communion, etc) will be celebrated at St Agnes while our Cathedral is under construction
-Science Lab is on hold due to Cathedral construction and the resultant need to utilize the school kitchen for community events. The designated money is earning interest until we can develop the space after the Cathedral rehab.
-St Lucy project garnered 917 pounds of food for the underserved. Great outreach by our school families. Thank you for your generosity.
-Many thanks to Monika Schiller and her volunteers for the used uniform sale. Not only are we saving parents money and saving the planet from refuse, but we also made almost $2K.
-A round of applause for Katie Nolte and her Trunk or Treat crew. There were smiling faces, scary outfits and enough candy to ensure our donations to the troops are substantial (see the relevant flier).
-DFE (our accreditation process) is well underway and involves the whole community. We look forward to positive ratings and passing the accreditation with flying colors in March thanks to the hard work of our teachers and staff.
Lots of Saints wandered about STM yesterday as our Kindergarten paraded about yesterday and I am sure that the Saints in heaven continue to watch over us as well.
Looking ahead, our teachers are ready to meet with you starting next Wednesday, November 9, for Parent-Teacher conferences. Please look for the email from your child’s teacher to sign up for this important annual meeting.
