Teacher Spotlight

This week we are spotlighting two of our amazing Specials teachers!

Ms. Brenna Hickey

My name is Brenna Hickey and I am the Math Specialist at St. Thomas More Cathedral School. I grew up in McLean, Virginia and attended schools in the Diocese my whole life. For Elementary and Middle School, I attended St. John Academy in McLean. I then went on to Bishop Denis J. O’Connell for High School. Go Knights! For college, I attended High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

This is my fourth year teaching at STM. I have had the privilege to teach 5thgrade, 4thgrade, and Math! As a teacher, I strive to provide my students with a safe and welcoming learning environment. I believe that every student should come into the classroom, feeling like it is their second home. Learning should not be the same, boring, everyday routine. By changing up what you do every day, like incorporating different activities, it will help the children to keep energized and excited to learn!

Mrs. Stephanie Pacheco

I am thrilled to be your librarian this year! I love books, books as mirrors as ourselves, as doors to others, as bridges beyond ourselves. I am excited to share this with your children, get to know them, and build a collection they will enjoy and that will support them.

My undergraduate degree is from the University of Virginia in Religious Studies and Government. I also have an M.A. in Theological Studies from the Christendom Graduate School. I have a certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language, and I am working towards my Master's degree in Library Science from the Catholic University of America.
I've taught CCD, tutored students for the SAT and taught 5th Grade here for four years!

I love the Faith, super heroes, writing, the outdoors, scouting, watermelon, coffee and blueberry muffins.
