As you watch the news and see how all the schools are faring, you may wonder how STM will handle quarantines. I know that the medical side of this has been shared with you already (See Covid 19 & Return to School Plan), but academically you should also know what to expect.
While my deepest desire is for our school community to stay well, if you find yourself in the position where your family may need to quarantine or have an extended absence from school, I have the pleasure of helping you navigate the academic portion. You will hear from me ASAP, the goal is within the same day as your quarantine notification. I will ask for 24 hours to ensure that all information is current and that I can give you our absolute best.
What will I do? I will gather where your child(ren)’s teachers will be posting asynchronous work for them, ensure you know who you will be hearing from, and will be the point of contact for you with the school. This way, you only need to remember one name: Emily Stocker. At a time where you will likely feel frazzled (admittedly, I did as a mom!), you will not need to reach out to a homeroom teacher and 6 specials teachers. I will do that for you! If you have any questions regarding assignments, you will not have to wait until teachers are available to answer because I am able to pop in and ask them for you. I am happy to be your one-stop resource for academics.
While I hope we will never have to communicate in this way, please know that I will take care of you and your family.
