Math, Wednesday March 25, 2020

Today we are making Line Plots and measuring data! This be similar to taking the mean, median, mode and range though EverydayMath doesn't use those terms. The line plot will be very similar in set-up to the one you made for Teacher-for-a-day before school went online.

Here's what to do:
1. Review the Answer Key to p. 202 from yesterday
-Submit a write-up about two questions, what mistakes you made and why the correct answer makes sense.

2. Math Boxes Quiz 6-4
*Without any notes, complete Math Boxes 6-4 and take a picture of the completed page. Upload it.

3. Line Plots--the fun part!
Look at p. 205 in the Math Journal & View Video by Mrs. Pacheco
--We are adapting this slightly because we are not class. Instead of class pencils, pick 12 office/school materials at your house (such as rulers, pencils, pens, erasers, markers, white out, paper, etc--you may repeats such as two different pencils) and measure the length of each to the nearest 1/4 in.
--Follow the directions on the page--think of a good scale for the line plot and make an X on the line to represent each item's length.

4. Find the Mean, Median, Mode and Range of your data set
--write this directly onto the page
--Upload a picture of p. 205 and your findings of Mean, Median, Mode & Range

5. Complete Home Links 6-4. Upload a picture.

*I've attached a notes overview of Mean, Median, Mode and Range, and the BrainPop to help you review.
