we have a really diverse Community which is just terrific it's nice to have people from all walks facts of life because then you get a much Fuller experience the building have been maintained so beautifully at the amount of commitment that people who have been working here for the students have and taking care of the bill that says a lot about why in the shape that it is after 75 years it's because there is a genuine love for this building for what it stands for and for who deserves so that it maintains its purpose and which is to educate the future conflicts of our country and that's really really important the challenge is how do you teach children to think critically think outside the box but maintain Order In traditional class and that's where the art and the science of teaching comes in so the Educators that come into our school no the challenge is going to be we do a lot of assessment we do differentiated learning we do Haitian of that I doing the assessments and you need to be ready to come in and help build that curriculum for your students and it's not going to come from a book that comes with the teacher manual this today run less than 5.1 it comes from that teacher being creative and recognizing what they need to do to help this class and meet the needs of all those different miners or on that grid Thomas More has resource teachers that are able to provide individualized help to children who need a little bit of extra help and my youngest child that is seen four times a week just to get extra support in her pre-reading skills so that she'll be really ready to read by the end of the school year and on the opposite end children who are reading are performing in Mass at 11 or higher than some of their peers the teachers are equipped to provide them with extra challenging assignment special projects and to just enrich them so that they don't get bored in the classroom I have to say having when a military officer before this and being used to very straight lines and squared Corners initially to me it looked like this organized chaos and in fact that's what it is in any of our classroom there will be meeting at different levels going on and there will be reading out loud in one corner with kids reading to one another they'll be students working in another area around us especially designed table and if you walk in the classroom at first you might think what is this then you realize wow it's French created learning going on for everybody and everybody may appear to be doing similar things but they're all at their own level and that way we can go to where they are and then push them to the next level and get them at least on grade level if not well beyond I always liked the the phrase St Thomas More's we can do more for our students more for our community here at St Thomas More and I love that and I think same time as more who was get it to the church I dedicated to God but he very much believed in putting your faith in your day-to-day life together and being an honorable man being a woman and I think that is our ultimate as we get our kids graduated through 8th grade and moving the high school and onwards that they look back and realize they were greatly formed at Saint Thomas More School each of my kids are so dumb and somehow the teachers have spent the time to get to know them and they're able to push them into different ways that they need to be pushed all of my kids have grown a lot academically but it's such a beautiful a responsive God has given to parents that they are to be the first teachers of their sons and daughters so we help parents to plant those seeds of Faith everyday and that's God's way of reminding us fit when we plant the seeds of faith when we nurture them he will use them in miraculous ways and they will be made visible at times we cannot even imagine second grade I'm Winnie 10 and I'm in 6th grade my name is Thomas and I graduated from St man 2016 St Thomas More library eBooks my favorite type of book book is Dionne spy school Series in the Nathan Hale's hazardous tales series if you fail they will be there to pick you up and help you get back up on your feet and moving along in the right direction if you have a problem with something they will come and take the time to fix it with you personally the teachers are fantastic in terms of communicating home on a daily basis and what's going on in the classroom what's the children are learning any special challenges that the students might be facing some really really happy with level of communication we get from the teachers but most of all what I love about the teachers is that they they're committed with their full cells and their hearts to teach her at St Thomas More I know each and every one of them could make more money someplace else but they've chosen to devote live to teaching at a Catholic school and in this Catholic school at st. Thomas More and to me you can't compare that to anything else I feel that the teachers really love my children and that gives me peace of mind sending them here every day I think I want to be the or doctor or I really want to be a sports commentator or either volleyball or basketball how's the weather be junior Olympian when I'm a little older
