Several years ago the school realized that with its increasing enrollment, it would run out of space for students in its main building. After an extensive planning process, the school determined that it needed to add a full sized gymnasium, create additional classroom space and enhance its multimedia center. Thus, earlier this year the Cathedral and School embarked on a three year Capital Campaign seeking to raise funds to, among other Parish projects, provide for the following School related items:
Build a Parish Center adjacent to the School containing a new gymnasium;
Create additional classroom space; and
Enhance the school’s multimedia center.
Preliminary plans have been drawn up. As you can see from the Projected Budget in the Capital Campaign literature, a large portion of funds raised through the Capital Campaign will be used for purposes that directly benefit our School and our students.
As of June 2014, over $1.3 million has been raised towards the initial $3.5 million goal and towards the total projected budget of $6.6 million.
Enhancement of our school’s facilities is essential for us to achieve the school’s mission of nurturing and fulfilling the spiritual, academic, social and emotional promise of each child in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Thus, in addition to providing advanced teacher training, this year we intend to allocate half of your Annual Giving Fund gifts to the Capital Campaign.
Although we cannot erect buildings without money, if we are to be successful in our mission we will also need volunteers to help with the Capital Campaign and to pray for the continued success of our Cathedral and School.
Please use the “Secure Online Giving” tab on this page, or send us an email, to let us know if you would be willing to help our School with one, two, or better yet, all three of these needs.
All financial gifts are tax deductible and will receive written acknowledgement for tax purposes. Gifts of service and prayer will be added to our School’s participation roster. Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support of our Cathedral School.
Gratefully in Christ,
Development Committee Chairman
