Pizza Lunch
The Pizza Lunch Program is a fundraiser for our school. Before school starts, parents are asked to sign their students up for Pizza Lunch and pay for a year-long subscription to the program. On 20 Fridays, students who have signed up for Pizza Lunch are served pizza, a snack and a drink.
As part of the Pizza Lunch Program, a Market Table is set up in the cafeteria on Pizza Lunch Fridays. Healthy snacks and non-food items are sold at the market table. All Market Table items are sent to school as donations from STM families. Every item on the table is sold for a quarter.
Each Pizza Lunch Friday is held to benefit a specific grade or special class at STM, and the profits from the Market Table and pizza subscriptions for that day go to that grade or special class. For example, the 7th grade will sponsor the September 30 , 2011, Pizza Lunch, therefore, the money raised at the Market Table and the subscription money for one pizza lunch will be given to the 7th grade teachers. The teachers can use the Pizza Lunch money for their classes at their discretion. Some teachers use the money for field trips, others for books, others for special in-school events like a Thanksgiving feast or a Colonial Day.
The Pizza Lunch Program is run completely on volunteer help. Each Pizza Lunch Friday we need a minimum of seven volunteers in order to make the program a success. Thank you Pizza Lunch volunteers!!!
