Extended Day

The Extended Day Program at St. Thomas More Cathedral School provides high quality child care administered by a caring staff before and after school.  The program is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.  STM Extended Day opens at 7:00am, closes when the students are in school, reopens after school is dismissed and closes at 6:00pm.  

For the 2011 – 2012 school year, all STM families who plan to use the program must register each child with the Extended Day Program.  We are asking you to register each child to ensure that all required forms are completed and on file.  This means that even if you plan to use the program occasionally, you must still register your child.   Registration forms for Extended Day are due by August 1, 2011.  Please help us by completing the forms and returning them as soon as possible so that we can have the program up and running by the second day of school.

Please complete the below list of forms.  The forms can be found online at our website – www.stmschool.org.  Forms will be returned to you if they are not complete.  Once all the forms are complete, you will receive confirmation from the office of your acceptance into the program.

€ $25.00 check written out the STM Extended Day

 *Parents with dual custody must each complete a Diocese of Arlington Permission for Emergency Care form.  A copy of the divorce decree must be attached.   

Fees:

For the 2011 – 2012 school year, all families will be charged $5.50 per hour for one child; $9.00 for two children; and $11.00 for three children.  You will be charged the full hourly rate for any portion of an hour used.  

Payment

Extended Day Bills are billed semi-monthly through FACTS.  Families will be billed on the 15th and 30th of each month for Extended Day usage.  Families will have the option to pay their bills directly through FACTS or to STM.  All accounts are due and payable upon receipt.   Payments received passed the due date may be assessed a late fee of either $10.00 or 10% of the bill whichever is greater.

Late Pick – Up

All families who do not pick up children from Extended Care by 6 P.M will be charged a fee.  The cost will be $3.00 per child per minute after 6 P.M.  If a family is late picking up in excess of three times, a conference will be required with the principal.  Further tardiness may result in denial of services.

Volunteer Opportunity

STM will be offering the opportunity for parents to sign up to work Extended Day in order to meet Volunteer Hours.  Let us know if that would be something you might be interested in.  Remember you must be VIRTUS trained to work in the Extended Program.  

Extended Day Scheduled Closures

Extended Care will not be offered on the following days:

  1. vMonday, August 29, 2011 first day of school - 11:30 a.m.- dismissal for all students
  2. vFriday, September 2, 2011 – 11:30 a.m. dismissal for all students – holiday weekend
  3. vWednesday, November 23, 2011 – 11:30 am dismissal for all students – holiday weekend
  4. vFriday, January 13, 2012 – 11:30am dismissal for all students - holiday Weekend
  5. vFriday, February 17, 2012 – 11:30 dismissal for all students – holiday weekend
  6. vFriday, May 25, 2012 – 11:30 a.m. dismissal for allholiday weekend
  7. vTuesday, June 12 through Friday, June 15, 2012 – 11:30 a.m. dismissal for all students – last day ofLast day varies due to number of snow days.
