Fees
The program has two fee structures:
Plan A requires a $75 per family registration fee, and the hourly rates are as follows:
- One child $3.50 per hour
- Two children $6.00 per hour
- Three children $8.00 per hour
- Four or more children $10.00 per hour
Plan B is for any family not paying the registration fee, and the rates are as follows:
- One child $4.50 per hour
- Two children $7.00 per hour
- Three children $9.00 per hour
- Four or more children $ 11.00 per hour
Fees are charged for every hour or any part of an hour. There is a late penalty fee of $1.00 for every minute past 6:00pm that a parent is late picking up a child. Fees are billed monthly. All bills not paid by the end of the month will be assessed a penalty of $10 or 10% of the bill, whichever is greater.
Snacks
A nutritious snack is provided daily, but children are permitted to bring snacks from home. Any special dietary or health problems should be carefully explained on the Emergency Form, and brought to the attention of the staff.
Staffing
An Extended Day director and at least one child care supervisor for every 18 children staff the Extended Day Program. The staff is required to have a criminal history check, a physical, a TB test, and 12 hours of annual in-service training. All of the present staff has been trained in first aid and CPR.
A Typical Day
A typical day includes signing in, changing clothes (a change of clothes must be brought daily; there is no overnight storage available), serving snack and then outside play. During inclement weather, children will see a video or go upstairs to play in the gym. Quiet homework time is available Monday through Thursday in the library. The last hour is spent in free play where the children can choose games, blocks, puzzles, coloring books, etc. Children are permitted to bring toys from home, but Extended Day cannot be responsible for them. From time to time, there are special, supervised arts and crafts activities, but
generally the children are free to choose any activity that is available. Children are never allowed to leave the school property for any reason, and a parent or guardian, or their representative, must sign them out. On early release days, the children must bring lunches from home, marked with the child's name and date.
