Resource

The purpose of the resource room is to help students with special needs achieve academic success. Through small group and one-on-one instruction, Mrs. Noll and Mrs. Rimicci are able to hone in on the specific needs of the students. Through careful collaboration with the classroom teachers, we are able to assist the students in building study skills, math skills, and pre-reading and literacy skills. It is our goal to help students develop strategies that they can use independently in their daily work.

Mrs. Noll has a B.A. degree in History, along with Elementary K-8 and Special Education Certifications. She taught for many years in public schools in Anchorage, Alaska–both regular and resource classrooms.  After moving from Alaska to Virginia, Mrs. Noll accepted a part time resource teacher position at St. Thomas More Cathedral School, and has been happily teaching at STM since January 2007. Mrs. Noll has a son and daughter in college, and lives with her husband and small dog, Pierre, in Alexandria, Virginia.

After graduating from Boston College with a degree in Elementary Education, Mrs. Rimicci began her teaching career with fourth and fifth graders in Boston, MA. She began at St. Thomas More as a third grade teacher eight years ago. When her son was born, she became a part time resource teacher and has been enjoying that position for the past 6 years. During that time, she has earned a Masters’ Degree as a Reading Specialist from University of Virginia. She is happy to see her oldest son in the Kindergarten class and looks forward to her youngest joining the STM family in a couple of years.
