Curriculum and Instruction
The curriculum provided to pre-school through eighth grade is one of continuity and challenge-- recognizing the individual needs and gifts of each student. We pledge to motivate each student toward developing their capabilities to the fullest potential. We strive to instill a passion for knowledge and a quest for excellence. Preschool The Program emphasizes the importance of play and lends many opportunities for learning through playing, exploring, and creating. By providing a balance of fine and gross motor skills, indoor and outdoor play, group activities, and special events, children are given an experience that will enrich their lives and prepare them for the next phase of their education process in Kindergarten. Kindergarten Kindergarten is a whole day program with a 45 minute rest incorporated into each day. We provide a developmentally appropriate, hands on approach to learning. The kindergarten year focuses on basic skills that will prepare the children for first grade. The curriculum consists of religion, math and reading readiness, language arts, science and social studies. It is also enriched by special classes in Spanish, Physical Education, Music, Art, Library and Computer. Practicing important social skills through working together and play are an integral part of the school day. Grades 1-8 Primary Grades 1-2, Intermediate Grades 3-5, and Middle School Grades 6-8 are provided with a full curriculum as indicated below:
